Project Overview
FPS Pontoon Hire provided specialist floating access for a programme of bridge inspections on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
The project required stable over-water access so bridge inspectors could examine structures at close range while working across multiple locations and shifts.
The Challenge
Bridge inspections can be difficult where the underside of a structure cannot be reached safely from the bank or road. The client needed a flexible access system that could support inspection personnel and equipment while minimising disruption to the surrounding waterway and public areas.

The Outcome
The planned inspection shifts were completed successfully and the client provided positive feedback on both the equipment and the FPS team. FPS was subsequently invited to quote for further bridge-inspection work.
