One of Manchester’s latest apartment builds requires an existing foot bridge alongside the River Irwell to be removed, but concerns were raised about debris entering the watercourse. When FPS were approached to see how they could help prevent this, they offered a 50m x 3m pontoon that stretched all underneath the bridge and incorporated Combisafe panels and debris netting to minimise the risk. It was a very cost-effective solution and one that was welcomed by the customer and the Environment Agency.
