Dismantling a bridge and removing it without any debris entering the watercourse was again mission accomplished successfully by FPS. This was quite a unique task as the stream water was used by a local whisky distillery who insisted nothing should enter the stream. Normally, such a project would have utilised a crane, but with there being overhead power cables this was a ‘no-go’. Hence FPS was approached to understand if they could help with the bridge removal. Obviously they always say yes, and thus provided a pontoon that spanned the stream and covered the width of the bridge. The bridge was removed and lowered onto the pontoon where it was then dismantled without and debris entering the stream, keeping the distillery and their whiskey drinkers happy.
